On Monday, May 11th, Preschool Advantage hosted our milestone 30th Golf Invitational at Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville, New Jersey. The outing is one of two major annual fundraising events for our organization, which raises money to pay preschool tuition for families who could not otherwise afford it. This year’s event raised funds to get children in need off our waitlist and into quality preschool classrooms with our partner schools in Morris and Somerset Counties.
Somerset Hills Country Club is a world class and nationally ranked golf course, which created the perfect setting for the day. Over 85 golfers attended and were treated to the renowned A.W. Tillinghast golf course, which challenged all the players, no matter their skill level. Seasonably cool temperatures made for excellent golfing conditions, and everyone was able to enjoy the golf course to its fullest.
Apart from golf, the event included racquet sports – a dozen pickleball players enjoyed a clinic and friendly round robin matches, while 16 other players in their classic tennis whites enjoyed a playful but competitive day of tennis. A small but mighty staff and group of volunteers ran the day seamlessly and to perfection, starting just after sunrise, and winding up the day as the sun set.
For the fourth consecutive year, Provident Bank was the Presenting Sponsor. Other generous sponsors for the event included car dealerships, financial institutions, insurance companies, real estate companies, law firms, and many more.
